South Rim Road Details

There are 12 overlooks (most accessed via a short trail) along a seven-mile stretch of South Rim Road from Tomichi Point to High Point. At Gunnison Point, you'll find the South Rim Visitor Center and its exhibits on the canyon. South Rim Road is open year-round to the Visitor Center at Gunnison Point, but in winter the road is closed and is open past the visitor center only to cross-country skiers and snowshoers.
