Rock Point Details
Rock Point, a trail 2.7 miles west of the Visitor Center on South Rim Road, leads from the roadside parking area to a small overlook perched on the canyon rim. Though there are a number of overlooks on the South Rim, relatively closely spaced, there is a striking difference between them. At Rock Point, the North Rim of the canyon is relatively close and the view of the sheer walls on this side of the canyon are intimidating. To the east, you'll see just how narrow and steep the canyon can be.
