Cedar Point Nature Trail Details
Cedar point is an easy trail featuring the flowers, grasses, and shrubs native to the South Rim of Black Canyon. The level, wide trail spends some time wandering through an area filled with signposts identifying native plant species like fragrant sagebrush, pink and yellow yarrow, and the upland's characteristic mountain mahogany. There are two overlooks at the end of the short trail, both of which provide stunning views of the river below. One of the park's tallest cliffs, named the Painted Lady, can be seen rising 2,250 feet above the canyon floor, and if you're lucky you'll be able to spot some bighorn sheep roaming the cliffs below you. The trailhead is from the Cedar Point parking area on South Rim Drive, about six miles from the park entrance.
