Camping Details
There are two campgrounds within Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and one on East Portal Road just outside park boundaries in the Curecanti National Recreation Area. South Rim Campground is the only reservable campground of the three, and the only one open year-round. Counting backcountry sites, there are 101 campsites in the park, consisting of RV, tent, and primitive sites; an additional 15 primitive sites are available at East Portal Campground. Sites at established campgrounds are $16 per night, with the exception of Loop B of South Rim Campground, where sites have electric hookups and are $22 per night. Backcountry camping is free.
