Royal Arches Cascade Details
While most of Yosemite's waterfalls are roaring, intense rushes of water, these cascades, while intriguing, are barely visible even at their peak in early spring. Fed by melting snow, they trickle 1,240 feet down the north wall of Yosemite Valley, and are nothing but a dark stain on the granite cliffs by early summer. The dozens of thin streams of water are named for their proximity to the Royal Arches and are best visible from behind Ahwahnee Hotel or from Stoneman Meadow.
