Rocky Point (V6) Details

This Point has long been a challenge for road and trail builders within the Valley. The rocks you see around you here have fallen from the cliffs above, mostly during the Middle Brother rock slide which occurred in 1987. This rock slide contained an estimated 600,000 cubic yards of material weighing an estimated 1.4 million tons and was the largest event of its kind in Yosemite Park history. Roadside marker: V6
