Camp 4 Details
Located in the Yosemite Valley near Yosemite Lodge, Camp 4 is a legendary hangout for rock-climbers (it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and has excellent bouldering nearby. Open all year, it has 35 campsites for tents only; no RVs or trailers are permitted. No reservations are required, but this first-come, first-served campground fills early most mornings from spring through fall. The registration line at the campground kiosk typically forms well before the 8:30 a.m., opening time in the busy summer season. Everyone wishing to register for a campsite must be present at registration. Six people will be assigned to each campsite. The daily fee is $6 per person, and parking is available nearby (permit required). Sleeping in vehicles is prohibited. Each campsite contains a fire pit (but no grill), a picnic table, and four shared food lockers. Bathrooms with potable water and flushing toilets are nearby. Groceries can be purchased at nearby Yosemite Lodge and Yosemite Village. Half Dome Village and Housekeeping Camp have showers. Pets are not permitted. Note: There is a 30-night camping limit within Yosemite National Park in a calendar year. From May 1 to September 15, the camping limit in Yosemite is 14 nights, and only seven of those nights can be in Yosemite Valley or Wawona.
