Murphy Creek Details
This trail follows Murphy Creek, then crosses open granite slabs and wanders through lodgepole pine forests to Polly Dome Lakes. This is one of the least crowded trails off of Tioga Road, however you will see a number of backpackers heading to the Glen Aulin campsites which are another 4.3 miles (one-way) beyond Polly Dome Lakes. The Polly Dome Lakes are a collection of a dozen or so pools of differing sizes. The largest, Polly Dome Lake, is dotted with granite boulders and provides views of Mount Hoffman. Trailhead: The Murphy Creek trailhead is located off of Tioga Road in the northern section of Tenaya Lake. There is a small parking lot and picnic area located right next to the lake shore. Restrooms: There are two small semi-permanent pit toilets at the parking lot.
