Mt. Broderick Details
Lodged between the looming shadows of Liberty Cap and Half Dome, this small mountain provides hikers with some spectacular views. On the east side of the granite base is Lost Lake, a marshy, silt-filled lake hidden between peaks that are seldom visited, but quite picturesque. Unfortunately, the mountain's summit, which is named for a U.S. Senator killed in a duel with a justice of the Supreme Court, is fairly inaccessible without adequate climbing gear and good directions.
