(Shuttle stop #16) Happy Isles has an accessible nature center (summer only) and a nature trail, access to the Merced River, a snack stand (summer only), and the trailhead for the Vernal and Nevada Falls, Half Dome, and John Muir trails. Happy Isles Loop Road, at the east end of Yosemite Valley may be used by vehicles with accessibility placards. To enter, follow signs to the campgrounds and trailhead parking, then drive east beyond the "Authorized Vehicles Only" sign. At shuttle stop #16, turn right on the paved road. Two designated parking spaces are located behind the accessible restroom, and two more are at the Nature Center at Happy Isles.
