Middle Fork Trail Details
The first few miles of the Middle Fork Trail in the Foothills area offer panoramic views of the upper canyon of the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River, Moro Rock, and Castle Rocks. The moderately difficult, three-mile (one-way) trail leads eventually to the high country and Panther Creek. To access the trail, take Buckeye Flat Road; a dirt road that branches off to the left leads to the trailhead. Although both roads are closed during the winter, the trail is always open; alternatively, you can park at Hospital Rock, which adds 3.4 miles round-trip.
