Camping Details
There are 14 campgrounds in the two parks, and all but five are first-come, first-served. Potwisha, Buckeye Flat, Lodgepole, Dorst Creek, and Sunset take reservations. Three of the 14 campgrounds are open year-round: Potwisha, South Fork, and Azalea. You also may make reservations for any of the park's group campgrounds. Campgrounds often fill up on Saturday nights in July and August. Sunday through Friday afternoons offer the best chance of finding a site. Popular Lodgepole is the exception: it usually has limited available sites even midweek. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring with grill, and a metal bear-proof box for food storage. There are no utility hookups in the parks. Dump stations are located at Potwisha and Lodgepole. Campers can check in anytime, regardless of whether you have a reservation or self-register; campground checkout is 12:00 p.m. You may only camp for 14 days per campground and/or a total of 30 days annually between the two parks. Campground opening and closing dates vary: call (559) 565-3341 prior to your visit for more information.
