World War II Radar Station Details
To avoid detection by enemies, this critical radar station, named B-71, was designed in the 1940s to look like an innocent farmhouse from the air, sea, and even by the nearest road. However, inside are hidden a diesel generator, technical equipment, and two 50-caliber anti-aircraft guns. This facility is one of 65 similar "farmhouses" built along the coast during World War II, but one of the few surviving today. The radar stations is on Coastal Drive just south of the mouth of Klamath River.
