Gold Bluffs Trail Details
The Gold Bluffs section of the California Coastal Trail is open to biking as well as hiking. The north trailhead is on Coastal Drive 1.5 miles from Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway, and the south trailhead is on Davison Road just past the Gold Bluffs Beach entrance station. The hike is very steep at first, leading down to the beach, but then levels out and become an easy hike or bike ride. At the bottom of the initial descent is Carruthers Cove, a secluded beach. The trail leads to Ossagon Camp, where backcountry camping is possible, as well as the Gold Bluffs Beach campground.
