Clinging close to the cliffs along the Pacific Ocean, this drive is exciting and breathtaking. The nine-mile route is mostly paved and often narrow, with steep grades and sharp turns. The daunting drive offers incredible views of the ocean and the Klamath River estuary as it winds along the coast. Most drivers take about 45 minutes to complete the trip, but plan for longer to stop and take pictures. Whales, sea lions, and pelicans from the overlooks along the road.
