Bicycling Details
Cycling is a popular and memorable way to see and experience the enormity of the redwood forest. The park's paved scenic byways, including Highway 101, offers countless places to stop and soak in the viewpoints; bicycles are permitted on all public roadways open to vehicle traffic. Campgrounds in the park have designated hiker/biker sites perfect for visitors on a multi-day bike tour; campers must arrive on foot or bike to use these reduced-cost sites. For visitors interested in biking off the pavement, the National and State parks have designated some trails within the park as accessible for backcountry cycling, including Little Bald Hills, the Coastal Trail (Last Chance and Gold Bluffs Beach sections), the Ossagon Trail Loop, the Davison Trail, and Lost Man Creek Trail. A map and brochure with detailed information are available at all visitor centers.
