One of the longer scenic byways in the park, 17-mile Bald Hills Road passes redwood groves and meadows, where you can see Roosevelt elk and black bear along with countless wildflowers in the spring. This route also passes vistas of Redwood Creek and the Pacific Ocean. Drivers typically take 45 minutes to drive this mostly unpaved road. Motor homes, RVs, and trailers are not advised to drive Ball Hills Road due to steep grades and narrow passages.
