Wildlife Details
A variety of wildlife can be seen in the park including insects, amphibians, birds, fish, mammals and reptiles. Many are sensitive; some are even endangered. The most popular animals include Townsend's big-eared bats, which live in Bear Gulch Cave, and California Condors, which can be found soaring high in the sky. Mammals that are commonly seen include black-tailed deer, bobcat, gray fox, raccoon, jackrabbit, brush rabbit, ground squirrel and chipmunk. Mountain lions live in the park as well though they aren't commonly spotted.
