Horseback Riding Details
Drakesbad Ranch is a popular place to book horseback rides, which have been an integral part of the park experience since the early 1900s. Guided trail rides for both novice and advanced riders are available and will take you to many of the popular and beautiful areas of the park. Note that, for safety reasons, trail rides are only available for visitors ages 7 and up. Horseback destinations include Devils Kitchen, where you can visit a hot spring, steam vents, and mud pots. Or, visit Terminal Geyser, a powerful steam vent with scenic views along the way. If you're a more experienced rider, the all-day 5 Lakes Loop trail ride will take you through changing terrain and includes a creek crossing and incredible scenery. All rides are available by reservation. Call 866-999-0914 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., mid-May through October.
