FAQs Details
Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about Lassen Volcanic National Park, courtesy of the National Park Service: **Where can I find information when I arrive?** Head to the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center, which is open April 1 to Nov. 30. Here you'll find information on the park, wilderness and backcountry permits, bathrooms, and water. The visitor center is at the southwest entrance of the park. If entering from the northwest entrance, the Loomis museum also has information, bathrooms, and rangers available to answer questions. Note that the museum is only open summer to early fall. **Can I shower?** Coin operated 24-hour showers are located at the Manzanita Lake Camper Store during the summer season. **How much does it cost?** It costs $20 per car to get into Lassen Volcanic National Park. **When is the park open?** The park is open 24 hours a day, year-round. Access can be limited in the winter due to heavy snowfall, so be sure to check road closures if you are planning on visiting in the shoulder season or winter. **I don't want to camp. Where can I stay?** The Drakesbad Guest Ranch is a great option for those looking to have a rustic experience in Lassen while still keeping a roof overhead. Reservations can be made as far as 6 months in advance. Call 866-999-0914 for more information. You can also stay at one of the rustic camping cabins at Manzanita Lake.
