Backpacking Details
With over 150 miles of hiking trails, both day-hiking and backpacking are popular summer activities in Lassen. Backpacking is a great way to travel into the lesser-seen areas of the park. Remember that you must have a wilderness camping permit to stay overnight. The majority of backpacking trips in Lassen take place in the eastern side of the park, where numerous loop trails can offer an awesome opportunity for single-night to week-long trips. Let your feet take you to some incredible vistas, and you can even hike a section of the famous Pacific Crest Trail.
