Pine City Trail Details
The Pine City Trail offers a scenic hike along an old mining road, through classic Mojave Desert flora including creosote, Mojave yucca, silver cholla, Joshua trees, California barrel cactus, and of course, pinyon pines. If there have been good rains, this area becomes a wildflower garden in the late spring. Overall, the hike offers a great combination of a casual desert walk and broad vistas of Queen Valley down towards Twentynine Palms. Although you can complete the hike in a few hours, spend some time exploring the side trails and canyons at trail's end. The trailhead for this 4-mile roundtrip, easy hike is at the end of Desert Queen Mine Road. There is a parking area for both Pine City and Desert Queen Mine Trail.
