Keys View Nature Trail Details
On the crest of the Little San Bernardino Mountains, the popular Keys View offers panoramic views of the Coachella Valley and beyond. The .25-mile loop trail which heads up the ridge offers particularly great views of the Salton Sea, 230 feet below sea level, as well as the Santa Rosa Mountains and San Jacinto Peak, which rises to 10,800 feet. The 11,500-foot peak of San Gorgonio Mountain is also visible. The southwest side of the ridge loses nearly a mile of elevation as it drops into the Coachella Valley. The San Andreas Fault, stretching 700 miles from the Gulf of California to the Mendocino Coast north of San Francisco, also runs through the valley and can be seen below. The trailhead for this .25-mile, easy loop trail is at Keys View. The lookout is wheelchair accessible.
