Indio Hills Palms Details

Take a short drive into the Coachella Valley, and you will end up at this park. Dotted along the rocky canyons are hundreds of native California palms, which is quite unusual for this desert-like landscape. The only reason why these palms are able to grow is from the groundwater along the San Andreas fault. Most of the trees are found in the 1,000 Palms Oasis area. Here, Hidden, Pushawalla, Briska, Macomber, and Horseshoe palms grow wild, making this a unique site to see during your visit to the desert.
