The [Joshua Tree National Park Association (JTNPA)](http://www.joshuatree.org/) supports preservation inside the park, scientific research and education. The association operates four visitor center bookstores, as well as offering a field institute with classes taught by experts in natural sciences, cultural history and the arts. The JNTPA also raises funds for the park via public events and a membership program. The JNTPA puts on an annual art festival, music performances at the Indian Cove Amphitheater, and supports the Joshua Tree National Park Artist-in Residence program.
