Indian Petroglyphs Details
A variety of Native Americans have inhabited the land now known as Joshua Tree National Park over the centuries, including the Chemehuevi, Serrano, and Cahuilla tribes. Their presence can be best felt when viewing the petroglyphs carved into the desert rocks in a variety of locations, including along the Barker Dam trail, at Coyote Hole in the Wonderland of Rocks, and -- if you can find it -- the hidden Indian Cave.
