The Eagle Mountains lie partially within the southeastern corner of Joshua Tree, reaching an elevation of 5,351 feet inside the park. The area is home to Eagle Mountain itself, as well as one of the country's largest open-pit iron ore mines (now closed) and the ghost town of Eagle Mountain, which supported the mine.
