Museums Details
Furnace Creek Visitor Center, the main visitor center for the park, offers exhibits and a film on the history of Death Valley; rangers are available for questions as well. Winter hours are 8am to 5pm; summer hours are 9am to 6pm. Scotty's Castle & Visitor Center, a Spanish-style mansion built in the 1930s, also offers a museum and bookstore. Winter hours are 8:45 am to 4:45 pm; summer hours are 9:45 am to 3:15 pm. The Borax Museum, in the Furnace Creek Ranch, offers exhibits including a mineral collection and the history of Borax in Death Valley. Call (760) 786-2345 for hours.
