Harmony Borax Works Interpretive Trail Details

A short, paved, ADA-compliant interpretive trail at the Harmony Borax Works explains the importance of borax -- the "white gold of the desert" -- as well as providing information on the lives of borax miners and workers, the 20-mule teams that hauled the mineral to market, and the borax refining process. The trail loops around the ruins of the borax works, which includes a remarkably intact steam boiler surrounding by crumbling walls. A massive 20-mule-team wagon stands nearby.
