Echo Canyon Road Details
Echo Canyon Road runs 10 miles to Inyo Mine from its starting point on Highway 190, two miles east of Furnace Creek Inn. You'll need a high-clearance vehicle to drive the first three miles of this gravel road, and 4WD to go beyond that. Echo Canyon itself is long and narrow, providing some lovely landscape views as you drive. The road ends right at the edge of the Death Valley Wilderness Area. Be sure to stop at Inyo Mine Camp to look at the old mine ruins; hike to Needle's Eye Arch; and follow an old railroad bed to an Amargosa Valley overlook. Echo Canyon Road also connects to the rougher Lee's Camp Road.
