Plan Around Wildlife
A good stop is not just something to read about. Once it belongs on the day, move into a saved trip and build the route around it.
Use this detail page to confirm that the stop is worth it, then carry that decision into a trip draft while the park context is still fresh.
Wildlife Details
There is plenty of wildlife found on, around, and above the Channel Islands. In the sea, keep an eye out for the 27 different cetacean species (whales, dolphins and porpoises) that pass through these waters, not to mention the seals and sea lions that haul up onshore. On land, you may spot an island fox, any number of lizards, and perhaps a Baja California Treefrog. In the air, was that a Townsend's Big-eared bat that just flew by? Or was it one of the 387 species of seabirds, shorebirds, and landbirds that have been documented in the park?
