Tree and Plants Details
More than 790 types plant life have been identified in Channel Islands National Park; of those, about 578 are native species. The islands' native vegetation coastal sage scrub, grasslands and chaparral. Island oak woodlands, mixed hardwood woodlands, pine stands, and riparian areas can also be found. There are also some wetlands. Fourteen threatened or endangered plants can be found within the park, such as the island barberry, soft-leaved paintbrush, Trask's live-forever, island rush-rose, and Santa Cruz Island lace pod, to name but a few.
