Scorpion Canyon Campground Details
A half-mile hike along a flat trail leads you from the landing on Santa Cruz Island to the Scorpion Canyon Campground, the largest campground in the park. The campground has 31 campsites, all of which can accommodate between six and 15 campers per site. Camping on Santa Cruz Island is $15 per night, per site, and reservations are required; call (877) 444-6777 or visit [Recreation.gov](http://www.recreation.gov/) no more than five months in advance to reserve. Camping conditions at Scorpion Canyon Campground are primitive, and you may only camp within designated areas. The campground is equipped with wind breaks for each site, picnic tables and pit toilets; water is available at the campsite, but no fires are permitted. You're also required to store your food in the park-provided food storage boxes to discourage scavenging animals. No trash cans are found in the campground, so campers must pack out their own trash.
