Cavern Point Loop Details
When you're on Santa Cruz Island, be sure to take the two-mile Cavern Point Loop Trail: during whale-migration season, you may even spot these magnificent mammals from land. There are two ways to hike this trail: to avoid a steep climb, hike clockwise starting from the campground (near site 22) and looping to Scorpion Anchorage. Or, follow the North Bluff Trail west for two miles from Cavern Point to Potato Harbor. The trail is accessible from Scorpion Beach, where the island's pier is found. There are also restrooms at the start of the loop at Scorpion Anchorage and at the Cavern Point trailhead (three quarters through the trail) next to the campground.
