This 11,000-acre park is one of the best places in Los Angeles to go hiking. There are 36 miles of trails that traverse the Santa Monica Mountains and Topanga Canyon, which can be accessed by one of the 60 individual trailhead entrances. Not only is this the largest park in the Santa Monica Mountains, but it also happens to be the largest park located in a major city. One of the most popular hikes is the Eagle Spring Loop, which takes you to the famous boulder of Eagle Rock. More adventurous hikers can embark on the Backbone Trail, which travels through the mountains boasting awe-inspiring views of Rustic Canyon.
