Even if you have not heard the name of this beach before, you probably know about one of its most prominent attractions Bowling Ball Beach. This scenic spot along the Mendocino coast is dotted with spherical sandstone rocks, which look like massive bowling balls scattered along the beach. But besides admiring this bizarre sight, guests also come to this beach for surfing, fishing, and hiking (there are two short trailheads that lead to and from the beach). The most popular time to visit is during sunset, although Bowling Ball Beach is particularly breathtaking in the early morning light as well.
