There are many amazing surf spots in Santa Cruz, including this small state beach on the north end of Monterey Bay, which is home to the iconic Steamer Lane surfing area and the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum. Even if you aren’t a surfer yourself, you will still be able to appreciate the beautiful setting and massive tidal waves as they roll towards the shore. Besides surfers, sea lions can also be spotted frolicking in the water or sunbathing off the rocks. And in the winter, you will also be able to see Monarch butterflies that migrate here from the west of the Rocky Mountains.
