Snorkeling Details
If you choose to snorkel in the American Samoa, you'll have the opportunity to spot quite a few of the 950 species of fish and 250 species of coral that call the island home. Ofu has some of the best snorkeling spots, but beware that getting there can be challenging due to to unreliable transportation. You must fly to the island of Ta'u to get to Ofu and then hire a local fisherman to take you across in a boat. Bring you own gear, as there are no options for rentals. There are no rental options for diving either. Visitors should come prepared with all gear necessary (although you can rent air tanks). There are no regular boat diving trips to offshore sites other than through independent charters, which must be booked prior to your visit.
