Homestay Program Details

The American Samoa offers a really unique opportunity for visitors to become further acquainted with the culture, history, and local setting of the island. Local villagers associated with the park offer a place to stay and an amazing opportunity to learn customs, crafts, and the South Pacific lifestyle through this program. Sleep in a Samoan house (fale), live with a family and participate in village activities. Note that you may experience some difficulties if you plan on participating in the program, like living arrangements, unmet expectations, language difficulties, cultural differences, or due to unpredictable changes in the weather. The NPS is not responsible for any conflicts, accidents, or sicknesses associated with your home stay. You must arrange a home stay by yourself. The National Park has a list of hosts, which they can provide to you by emailing NPSA_INFO@nps.gov or inquiring at the visitor center in Pago Pago.
