Blunts Point Trail Details
The Blunt's Point hike is a good option for those looking to explore some of the WWII history associated with the American Samoa. Though short, the trail does have some ups-and-downs and is buggy, so be prepared to sweat a bit and wear bug repellent. Two WWII era cannons mark the beginning of the hike and there are a few more gun emplacement nests further up the trail. The Blunts Point trail is also a great place to go bird watching - nests line the trail. The trail ends in a spooky old tramway. The trail is located between Faga'alu and Utulei on the coast road. Keep an eye out for the sign next to the IBM Laundromat that marks the path to the site. Look for the sign next to the IBM Laundromat, which marks the path to the site. Park at the public parking lot on the harbor side, which is a short 100 yards from the trailhead. After reaching the water tank, continue past it on the left to the beginning of the trail.
