Royal Arch Loop Details
This 34-mile loop features a 20-foot technical climb, a two-mile, 2,000-foot descent, a beautiful series of waterfalls, and the largest natural rock bridge in the Grand Canyon. One of the best of backcountry Grand Canyon trails, it runs along narrow trails at the edges of sheer cliffs, and climbs through three different canyons. The sections along the rim are stunning samples of the Arizonian desert, habitats of cacti, reptiles, and dusty wildflowers, while the canyons offer cool areas, ferns, and water. This trail visits the Grand Canyon, Royal Arch, Colorado River, and Elves Chasm, as well as a few well-places lookout points.
