Night Skies Details
The Grand Canyon is one of the best night-viewing sites in the United States thanks to its remote location. On most clear evenings you'll see the Milky Way stretching across the sky, especially if you walk along the Rim Trail to get away from the lights of Grand Canyon Village. Ranger-led programs include star viewings at Mather Point on the South Rim and Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim. A week-long star party is held each June, attracting astronomers and their telescopes.
