Thunderbird Lodge, and its twin Kachina Lodge, are located right at the canyon's edge in Grand Canyon Village. The lodges are within walking distance to many historic buildings including Bright Angel Lodge, El Tovar (Thunderbird guests check in at El Tovar, Kachina guests check in at Bright Angel Lodge), Lookout Studio, and Hopi House. The Arizona Room, El Tovar Dining Room, the Harvey House Cafe and the Fountain provide different dining options. About half of the motel rooms in these contemporary-style buildings are on the canyon side, and the other rooms are on the street side. The recently renovated rooms have two queen beds or one king bed, in-room Keurig coffee, refrigerator, safe, television, telephone, and full bath. With their central location, Thunderbird and Kachina Lodges are ideal if you're traveling with kids.
