Thunderbird Lodge blends contemporary style with natural touches, offering a comfortable stay directly on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Located in the heart of the Historic District, the lodge is within walking distance of restaurants, gift shops, Kolb Studio, Verkamps Visitor Center, and the Bright Angel Trailhead. It also sits along the Rim Trail, a 12.8 mile path stretching from Hermits Rest to the Kaibab Trailhead, making it a convenient base for hiking and exploring. Many rooms feature partial canyon views, known as canyon side rooms, while others overlook the historic village streets. Rooms include either one king bed or two queen beds and offer a full bath, refrigerator, flat screen television with satellite service, telephone, hair dryer, coffeemaker, and in room safe. Microwaves are not available. Accessible rooms are available in limited numbers. Guests check in at the Bright Angel Lodge front desk. Rooms are accessed by stairs only, as there are no elevators. Parking is shared with all South Rim visitors and may require use of satellite lots during peak periods. Operating dates are subject to change.
