Camelback Mountain Details
This hike is located in the heart of Phoenix Valley and makes for an excellent adventure for those staying in the city. Despite only having a round trip distance of 3 miles, it's quite challenging, especially considering the 1,420-foot elevation gain. There are two main ways to get to the top of the mountain. Both the Cholla and Echo Canyon Trails are equally tricky and require a bit of climbing on exposed rocks to complete. Once you reach the summit, you will be amazed at the 360-degree views over the city and surrounding landscapes. Just make sure to take it easy on the way back down you do not want to be one of the 200 people that need rescuing each year.
