Camelback Mountain Details

Perched right outside the city of Phoenix sits this camel-shaped mountain. The "humps" of the mountain are formed by two geological rock formations that have morphed together over millions of years. Hiking remains the key attraction, and there are two main trails that lead to the 1,280-foot peak. The Echo Canyon Trail and the Cholla Trail are both strenuous and steep hikes that boast fantastic city and nature views for those who manage to accomplish them. Rock climbing on Praying Monk is also a big draw for adventure lovers, especially considering the slope has permanent anchor bolts and belay ropes.
