Ranger-Led Programs Details

Wrangell-St. Elias rangers run guided tours in the summer (mid-May to mid-September) that vary from free interpretive talks to guided walks to evening programs. The tour schedule varies depending on the week, but generally hosts guided walks throughout the day and either an evening program or campfire program to end the day. The Wrangell-St. Elias Visitor Center runs the most programming out of the three locations and also does a number of programs with the Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge. The Slana Ranger Station runs limited interpretive programs between Memorial Day to Labor Day, each week there is a campfire program at the Kendesnii Campground on Nabesna Road. Kennecott Visitor Center also runs programs between Memorial and Labor Day. Programs include guided walks and interpretive talks, as well as weekend evening programs at the Kennicott Glacier Lodge. Check with any of the visitor centers for their weekly schedule.
