Hiking
There is one maintained trail system in Lake Clark National Park & Preserve.
Plan Around Hiking
A good stop is not just something to read about. Once it belongs on the day, move into a saved trip and build the route around it.
Use this detail page to confirm that the stop is worth it, then carry that decision into a trip draft while the park context is still fresh.
Hiking Details
There are plenty of places to take a hike within the park, but just one maintained trail system: the Tanalian Trails. However, endless backcountry hiking opportunities await in places only accessible by plane or boat. The Tanalian Trail system begins in Port Alsworth, in the heart of the park on the southern shore of Lake Clark. A stop by the visitor center will not only help you plan your hike, but is a good check-in for current trail conditions.
