Coastal Beach Hike Details
Hike Lake Clark National Park & Preserve's beaches, and you may just have the expanse to yourself - except for bears, that is, especially during the salmon run that takes place July to October. The 25-mile, one-way hike is easy: simply follow the beach, but be sure to time your hike around the tides. Camp anywhere you please, but be sure to plan for the elements: there isn't much, if any, coverage from the heat, cold, or wet weather. Use bear-resistant containers, too! To access the Coastal Beach Hike, fly into Silver Salmon Creek Beach, near the stream outlet, and fly out of Chinitna Bay to the west.
