Southwestern Glacier Details

Located on the southwestern side of Northwestern Fjord, just west of Northwestern Lagoon, this beach at the foot of Southwestern Glacier is a good paddling stop. There is a small beach with campsites and a food-storage locker. The locker can be tricky to find: it's at the southwest end of the beach, in the alders about 150 feet inland of the mean high-tide line. Winds off the glacier can make launching and landing challenging here. There is also a smaller beach to the southwest with additional campsites, although it's a compact area: access this site from the main beach at low tide, or scramble over the rocks at high tide.
